Life's unexpected challenges lead this author to spend a week living at an assisted/independent living facility with no WiFi. Again. The first time, last summer, was originally written about below.

They Might Be Giants have a kids album that we love love LOVED when our kids were little. As music lovers, we were determined to avoid all the childreny children's music that drove adults bonkers, so I was so excited when we found records like this. I don't know how one gives the gift of music in the digital age, but in the 2000s when all our friends were having babies, this is the CD we'd give them at the baby shower. Bryan ended up seeing them in concert at our local Zoo Tunes outdoor show for this record, but I stayed home sick with the flu. *cry face emoji*
I love NO! It's a great children's album. No means no, a thousand times no! I don't have any kids but I am a perpetual kid, you could ask anyone. I'm sort of on a whiplash seesaw between a kid and an old man. Making fart jokes, and then shitting my pants. I guess there's not much difference between the two.
Steve, I loved reading this one. Having those experiences with your aunt and her friends are priceless. Thank you for sharing! I wasn’t around to help when my grandmother was placed in a nursing home due to her dementia. But I have had the honor of serving many patients and their caregivers over the years as an optometric technician. It takes a special kind of love to do what you’ve done for your aunt. I’m sure she loves you, too.
I feel your pain about the canceled/ postponed concerts! My dream concert was supposed to happen in 2020 - Matchbox Twenty and The Wallflowers. After a couple of canceled tours, Jakob Dylan decided to pull out of it all together and start his own tour. Maybe I’ll get to see both bands one day... a girl can still dream.
Thanks, Heather. I appreciate your comments. I didn't go into it as the piece was already pretty long, but my aunt was like a 2nd mom to me, the cool hippie aunt that I could go visit once I was old enough to drive and get high and swim in her pool.
As far as concerts - I had tickets to about 8 different shows in early 2020 and the TMBG show is the only one that wasn't cancelled. Of course getting the refund money is a topic for another post!:)
