Steve you hit me right in my “goth period” - thank you!! I thought I was the last suburban white boy boomer who even remembered Sisters Of Mercy!!! Never gonna hear them on grocery store Muzak for sure!! Favorite: “Ribbons” ---“flowers on the razor wire” - holy $h1+!!!!!!
Digging out my Bauhaus and solo Peter Gabriel playlists as I write this!!!
All of these artists are new to me. I’m in an emo kind of music way since the news of Sinead. Been cycling up her music and Billie Eilish’s Barbie song which I asked my daughter to sing and play a cover on the ukulele for me because apparently I can’t get enough of it. I’m letting all this emo energy just be and accept my indulgence. I’m so intrigued by this uncle you discovered and the similarities. Also (a testament to my non diagnosed ADD brain) I really love your title track art. It’s so cool! Hope you are well.
Thanks, Beth! I've been kinda emo lately myself. I was listening to Sinead's Universal Mother yesterday and it's so good. It's very underrated. I don't know the Billie Eilish Barbie song, so I'll check that out.
Yeah, the uncle stuff is pretty mind-blowing. I guess all things happen when they happen but I feel a bit guilty that it's taken me so long to research into the person I am/was supposed to be so much like. The title track art has been a fun but frustrating project. I used to have all the Adobe software for free from my old job but now that I'm a dog walker I can't afford to pay for Photoshop. So I've been using the free Canva and Pixelmator Pro. Which are only on my desktop, where I usually don't do most of my writing. So I spend way too long "writing" the ReCOWmendation posts due to me being a slow graphics maker.
I’ve heard of Father John Misty but everyone else is new to me!
I love The Cowboys Junkies. A family reference isn’t in their name, but they’re brother and sister.
Yeah maybe I should open it up to include actual family bands that don’t have family in the name....Hanson anyone? The Carpenters?
So cool you found a Wikipedia article on your uncle! Sounds like he was a fascinating man.
Some family bands I like:
The Isley Brothers
Sister Sledge
Pointers Sisters
The Teskey Brothers
A couple of your picks are on the extended playlist! Which you will get to hear in a couple weeks…the paid subscribers got it today!;)

Yeah- Sisters of Mercy were big at my high school and listening to the albums again this week they really hold up well!
My kids and I love Muse. They request them every long car ride.
I find your story aMusing!
You don’t know how hard I tried to not say that…I’m not stronger than the pun.
Some family bands I dig:
The Brothers Johnson
The Pointer Sisters
Momma
Brothertiger
Gay Dad
I almost wrote about Brothertiger instead of Pernice Brothers! They are on the extended playlist though.

So your compliment makes it all seem worth it!
