Used to love singing "Easy Lover" at karaoke a decade ago! Myself and one of the KJs (a gal) would duet. Believe it or don't, she sang the Collins part, and I did Bailey! I had a strong falsetto game, yo!
Are you just seeing this piece today? I was reading my Banana Splits piece and what you said there would be great in terms of you sharing witty, punny, kind words. In case you were looking for any inspiration…
I'll let you (bra-like) lift and separate mis palabras desde your comment sections! I'm writing some new-new I'll send you shortly. That's what brought me to this one....not my first Earworm to read, but in checking my "like" red hearts, another, earlier one looked to be my first of yours I read! There's a few of the early ones I missed (at least, judging by my "like" designations), so I'll have to peruse the archives more!
I've never heard Africano, so thanks for that. And that's a hell of a story about the earthquake. I remember we had the World Series turned on to watch. We had just been eliminated by the A's and the fam was feeling pretty salty about it. Couldn't believe the stories coming out - can't imagine living through it! And to have been so close to a place that was destroyed...wow.
Great stuff. As if a major earthquake and an interrupted Bay Area World Series weren't enough memories, you had to go and add losing your virginity. Well done. Brings me back in so many ways. Early Phil Collins solo albums were, and still are, my jam. And once digital music allowed me to add individual songs to my library, Philip and Phil's 'Easy Lover' was an easy purchase.
They say these things come in 3s! Sex, drugs and rock and roll! (you decide which is which). Yeah, if I had time to rewrite, I would have definitely referenced "In The Air Tonight" in the 2nd section....that's what's so great about Phil Collins: he's got a song to fit every occasion! Not sure which occasion Sussudio fits though.

Love me some Phil on Phil action!
