Thank you for including “It Takes Two”. Mathew Morrison is such a talented singer.

awesome! love SVE and if the 4 was spelled out I would have included it in my original playlist. I’ll add it to the bonus.

Thanks! It’s actually the very first song on the original “3” playlist and post. And was the first song I thought of when I started my 3 songs.

Aaahh! Sorry, I'm not so good at this internet thing. But I didn't see Three Cool Cats by The Coasters or The Beatles there, did I?

nope! I’ll be sure to add the coasters song to the bonus playlist! And depending on which Beatles song you refer to, there is one in the bonus playlist that a commenter suggested.

So many great songs here and so many I'm not familiar with that I need to check out. Another great "2" song which made my Top Ten of 2016: 2AM - Bear Hands. The video is pretty cool too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOlcDBXKhSU

I also encourage people to check out Carly Simon's Three of Us in the Dark. It's an underrated gem from her 1980 album Come Upstairs. It's got a mysterious vibe and it's pretty sexy to think about too!

Thanks, Dan! I’ll add your song to the Spotify playlist so people can check it out if they play it there.

It's four o'clock in the morning, damnit listen to me good! I often sing that song if I awake at that time. Lots of other number songs come to mind if I see them, so thanks for sharing. Sometimes I'd like to turn off the stream of musical lyrics in my head. I'm sure there's a song for that one, too!

Yes, Number songs can be very sticky, earworms, indeed!

It was Lara who suggested BU2B….if you didn’t guess! I do have plans for a 1000 Plus playlist after I get through 0-9! 😀

Hey Steve, I gave this a quick read, but will put my mind later to come up with tracks that fit the theme. Good stuff!

That's a nice idea; there are a number of good songs there (heh), and I appreciate you putting them in a convenient format.

I'm slightly sad that "Christmas At Ground Zero" didn't make the cut, but it gives me an incentive to think harder about "four" songs -- I have one in mind but it will probably make your list.

Did you suggest that one and I missed it? I tried to include all the suggestions that were available on Spotify (hence why I unfortunately didn’t include Flanders and Swann). Though I will add their song “Twosome: Kang and Jag” later today in the bonus bonus section….Most of their catalog was grayed out for some reason.

It was a moment of triumph (prompted by Ian's suggestion: https://earworm.substack.com/p/zero-reasons-not-to-listen-to-this/comment/53784309 )

I appreciate you looking for the Flanders and Swann, I just figured it didn't actually fit the rules.

There are no rules for the reader suggestions, just for me!

I was just thinking (on my ride into work), that it’s unlikely you’ll continue the series long enough to get to “Sixteen Tons” so, perhaps, when you have had enough you should have an open thread for any songs with other numbers in the title.

I do indeed have plans of doing a teenage playlist (13-19) and might combine the next few numbers (like 5 and 6, 7 and 8). And then I plan for a thousands and maybe a separate millions depending on how many songs I come up with.
