I’ve been slowly working my way through these tracks, taking notes along the way. A lot of great stuff on here and only a handful of songs that didn’t do it for me.
You already know I’m a big fan of Bonny Light Horseman but I finally got around to listening to that Fruit Bats/TORRES collab and enjoyed it. Quite different from what I expected.
The Almost Twins live performance was lovely, never heard of these guys. Same for the Rufus T Firefly track, I love the way the music progresses throughout the song.
Buzzard Buzzard - only OK for me
Nudista - nice. REALLY sounds like someone else and I can’t think who. It’ll come to me
Not sure I knew Ed Harcourt had a new album out. His 2016 release “Furnaces” made my AOTY list that year. Enjoyed 1987, will give the album a listen
I enjoyed the Nada Surf album. Not quite AOTY territory for me but a nice release
Everyone Says Hi - very nice!
Blind Pilot - good, not sure it’s a song I’d remember or go back to though
The David Gilmour release didn’t do it for me which was a little disappointing
Not much of a prog fan so Jon Anderson and Gong were a nope for me
Sean Lennon kinda meh for me
Never heard of Charles Lloyd but that track was lovely. Gonna check the album out for sure. Ditto for Kreidler
I agree with you on The Radiant - very Max Richter-esque - and very nice
I tried to get into the Storefront Church album but it was really hit and miss for me
Unbelievably, I’m not sure I’ve ever listened to any of Laetitia Sadler’s solo music, not sure I even knew she was releasing solo music! Loved the track. Will have to go exploring with her catalog
I saw Nala Sinephro on quite a few years-end lists, including Sam’s, and I’ve been enjoying the album
I love me a little piano and really enjoyed the Kelly Moran track
Cowboy Sadness - a little too ambient for my tastes
Lastly, I LOVED the Anoushka Shankar track.
PHEW!! That was a journey! A great one, though. Thanks for the great recommendations Steve!!
FANTASTIC playlist! Brilliant stuff - a perfect summation of the year in music. Thanks for this! And, those salad bars … damn. I forgot I missed those!
A great one. The whole album is so good. I was thinking about how this and Beth Gibbons' album are two of the best from 2024. Two iconic female vocalists from the '90s.
I also discovered her a couple of years ago. I think my love of hypnotic jazz/ambient music has grown exponentially since then. Appreciating her more than ever.

Thanks, Bryan! I spend a ridiculous amount of time curating that list (the 80 song one) and I’m glad you checked it out.
We’ve had Bonny Light Horseman on heavy repeat this year!
Great to see Laetitia Sadier getting some love! "Don't Forget You're Mine" was my favorite from this record.

Just as I look for something to listen to, Steve saves the day!
Happy to be of service!
Glad you're getting into Nala! I stumbled upon her a few years ago, but I finally delved into her full albums this year and they're so good.
