I’d never heard any of these, but it was close between Sade and That Dog - had to go with That Dog because I can’t believe I’d never heard of them before!!
Thanks for voting! It makes me giddy that that dog. is connecting with folks. I had forgotten about them until researching songs for this post. Looking forward to your new album!
Steve, I totally blanked on the invitation to Earworm with you. I am happy to give the first opportunity to Tamara. But I do have some ideas in mind...
No worries. There’s no timeframe around this. It can be whatever you want it to be. It can be your own essay, or a collaboration or a song you just suggest and I write the whole thing.
How did I know this would be your vote? 😁 I'll admit that Sade would be my vote too, but I don't like to play favorites with my children (even though I'm the one who created the poll -- I'm nothing if not a hypocrite).
That's very kind of you, Steve, but not necessary. I was surprised by it initially, but shouldn't have been; software's just doing what it's supposed to.
Yeah, I completely forgot about them until they appeared in my search for songs for this post. But I remember them truly standing out from the pack 30 years ago.
I knew more than half and sampled the rest. It was close this time, but I went with Sade, who pipped Cracker, Shakespear's Sister, and That Dog. I have never seen Mr. Wrong and I suspect I will slip from existence without that changing.
Thanks for restacking, Emm. I really hope when you’re on your deathbed, you don’t die regretting never having seen Mr. Wrong. By that time, you should be able to watch entire movies in the blink of an eye when we all have our media chips implanted.
If I am to have a media chip, I do not want it connected to the interwebs. And I want to ensure that it is sending me off with Les Fleurs or Funky Chicken.

Happy to turn you on to a 'new' band! And That Dog is giving Sade a run for her money in the poll! Thanks for reading/listening as always!
It was a toss-up between that dog. and Sade! Both are incredible for different reasons, but that dog. won out this time around.

^^ same!

Oh, it will be a collab. Trust me. This is your house. I am your guest. Let's chat about diabolical earworms at some point...
Great post! I love this series. Especially the name. And its acronym 😎
Sade wins hands down for me. No questions asked.

Lol 😂 I’m not very creative with my tastes. Always soulful. But at least I am consistent 😅
It’s sweet you don’t want to play favourites with your children. Like me with my studs. The more the merrier, innit? 😂
I'm a little bummed that I can't see the tally of votes in the group that doesn't contain my vote.
I’ll see if there’s anything I can do to remedy that. I don’t know if there’s a setting or not.

It’s very strange because I can see the results of the polls when I go to it. But it might be because I’m the author?
I'm pretty certain that's it.
Gotta be That Dog for me. I think a lot of people would be surprised to learn that this is one of their favorite band's favorite bands.
